Cricket is religion in India, and most cricket matches get a TV audience in hundreds of millions. But the best way to enjoy the game of cricket, especially a one-day match or an IPL match, is to watch it live, in a cricket stadium.

Cricket grounds in India are capable of seating tens of thousands of people quite comfortably. They are also much improved from how they were like in the 1980s and 1990s, when India wasn’t as developed as it is today.

Indeed, there are many who remember the chaotic scenes when attending international matches in large cricket grounds such as the Feroz Shah Kotla and the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, lack of seating facilities, leaking toilets, etc. Those things, mercifully, are a thing of the past.

Stadiums and cricket stadiums in India are pretty much up to international standards. No, they are still not as crowd friendly as cricket grounds in Australia or England, but they are still very good.

Here’s a look at the top cricket stadiums in India, the ones that you cannot afford to miss.
